God Has Loved Us - Psalm 107:1-16
The love of God is like those few resources in our world that are so versatile and so necessary for life that we can't live without it. So take water for example. Entire civilizations have been built around water because water is essential for life. We drink water. We wash with water. We cook with water. We grow our crops with water. We get food out of the water. Our plumbing systems depend upon water. We put out fires with water. We swim in water. We look at and listen to water. And the list could go on. Water is an essential resource for us to survive because it is extremely versatile and it is absolutely necessary to live.
God's love is so fundamental to a healthy human life that it is a necessity. God's love is one of those essential resources that meets so many different needs that we have. And just like, if we are cut off from water it won't be long before we break down into disfunction, if we are cut off from the love of God we will break down into disfunction.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." (Psalm 107:1)
