The big question that Jesus draws us to in Matthew chapter 7 is this: what is the difference between those who will spend eternity in heaven and those who will spend eternity in hell? Both groups are sinful, both groups deserve hell, both groups stand helplessly in need of salvation, so what is the difference?

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
