Light in the Darkness, Psalm 119:57-80

One of the ways that we describe times of suffering or trouble is "darkness". Possibly because the experience we have when we find ourselves in darkness is similar to the experience we have in suffering. It comes unexpectedly, when it comes we ask "Why is this happening? How long will this last?", we quickly reach for any light source to help us navigate through.

In Psalm 119:57-80 we see just how important the Bible is when we are walking through times of trouble. It is the light source that we should gravitate to.

So, What does God's word have to say to us in times of trouble? In the midst of our affliction, the Bible teaches us that we are completely safe in the good hands of God.

"It is good for me that I was afflicted,
that I might learn your statutes.
The law of your mouth is better to me
than thousands of gold and silver pieces."
(Psalm 119:71-72 ESV)

"Let your steadfast love comfort me
according to your promise to your servant.
Let your mercy come to me, that I may live;
for your law is my delight."
(Psalm 119:76-77 ESV)
