The kingdom of Jesus is not of this world therefore, the citizens of His kingdom are not of this world. In Matthew 5:1-12, Jesus paints a picture of his blessings and promises for those that seek humility, compassion, and righteousness. If you are in Christ, you are blessed.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." (Matthew 5:3-5)
