The joy of Christmas is upon us. In our service at Palmetto Shores Church yesterday, we were treated to the delightful sound of our children singing. The lyrics resonated, ‘This is Jesus, Emmanuel; here with us; tell all the world; we have a Savior. We are no longer lost; because He has come down for us; we have a Savior.’ It was more than a sweet sentiment; these were some of the most profound realities in the universe on the lips of little children.
Continuing our series titled ‘In The Flesh,’ we turned to 1 John chapter 2 to immerse ourselves in the gravity of Emmanuel—God with us. 1 John 2:1 opens the chapter, saying, ‘My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.‘ These words are a soul-refreshing reminder. God Himself has provided an advocate for us. Jesus, the perfectly righteous one, stands as our substitute. As our advocate, there is no accusation or condemnation that can stick to those who trust in Christ. Jesus, our helper and defender, has clothed us in His perfection. Truly, we have a Savior.
The Lord Bless You
