Weekend Recap (2/25/24)

I was thrilled to officiate a wedding for two dear friends this weekend. It was their desire that Christ be elevated in the ceremony. They wanted everyone to know that their heart is for Jesus to be the center of their lives.

So amidst celebrating them and highlighting their love for one another, we also celebrated God’s great love. We read Philippians 2:1-11 and considered how unity in the church is similar to unity in marriage. Unity comes when we, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” And this flows from Jesus. He gave up His life for us, serving us in the most severe and beneficial way. Marriage works, the church works, and life works when we receive the work of Jesus on our behalf, and then in worshipful gratitude, pursue a life of emulating Jesus.

The Lord Bless You
