The focus at Palmetto Shores Church yesterday was all about Jesus. We were reminded that, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” This is true–not because we aren’t actually guilty or because of anything we have done to absolve ourselves–but only because of what God has done in Christ. We live in freedom because Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death. We are no longer slaves to the never ending treadmill of exhaustion that is our self righteousness project. Because God condemned sin in Jesus, anyone who is united to Christ by the Spirit has fulfilled the righteous requirement of the law. Now, the motivating factor in our life is not guilt, but rather gratitude.
Then last night we came back and spent time considering our article on The Mediator. It says, “Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man. Having taken upon himself human nature, yet without sin, he perfectly fulfilled the law; suffered and died upon the cross for the salvation of sinners. He was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended to his Father, at whose right hand he ever lives to make intercession for his people. He is the only Mediator, the Prophet, Priest and King of the Church, and Sovereign of the Universe.” Praise Jesus, the King of Kings, forever and ever. Amen!
The Lord Bless You
